President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Friday, November 6, embark on a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states, where he is expected to commission major infrastructure projects and participate in All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rallies.
The visit will combine the commissioning of landmark projects executed by the administrations of Governors Umo Eno and Siminalayi Fubara with political engagements aimed at strengthening the ruling party’s mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Tinubu will begin the visit in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he will commission several projects completed by Governor Eno’s administration before attending a political rally.
Among the projects scheduled for commissioning are the new International Terminal Building, International Airport Hospital and Ibom Aviation Village, all located within the Victor Attah International Airport complex.
The President will also commission the Airport-Okopedi Road, which traverses Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
Other projects lined up for inauguration include the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
In anticipation of the presidential visit, Governor Eno has declared Friday a work-free day across the state to enable residents to participate in the reception and activities lined up for the President.
Tinubu will depart Uyo for Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday to participate in another APC campaign rally, marking his third major political outing since the ruling party flagged off its re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.
The Rivers rally is expected to provide another opportunity for the President to consolidate the APC’s political presence in the South-South and mobilise party faithful and supporters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the visits will also provide Tinubu with opportunities to engage political stakeholders, party members and supporters.
The statement said the President would use the engagements to emphasise national unity, political stability and a shared commitment to national progress.
The two-state visit comes as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the APC intensifying its mobilisation across the country.
