Joshua Vs Fury: Long-Awaited Fight Confirmed For December 11

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are set to finally meet in the ring after years of speculation, with the two British heavyweights scheduled to clash at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11.

The highly anticipated bout was confirmed after both fighters secured victories in their respective comeback fights in July.

Fury, 37, stopped 46-year-old Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach in the seventh round in Pattaya, Thailand, in a bout held before about 1,500 spectators.

Joshua, 36, also secured a stoppage victory over Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, after surviving two knockdowns in the opening round.

The victory was Joshua’s first since he survived a car crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of his close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

Joshua and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, had initially preferred Wembley Stadium as the venue. However, an agreement with the Saudi organisers financing the event requires the fight to be staged in Britain.

Hearn has described the contest as a significant moment in Joshua’s career, saying after Pat Brown’s victory over John Hedges on September 19 that Joshua’s “whole career comes down to this” fight.

The December 11 clash will bring together two of Britain’s biggest heavyweight names in a bout that has been discussed and negotiated for several years.
