Corporate Responsibility: Airtel Provides Water Project to Community in A’Ibom

As a responsible corporate citizen, Airtel Nigeria has provided a water borehole facility at Ikot Essien community in Akwa Ibom, South-South Nigeria.

Airtel said that the intervention was part of the seventh season of Airtel Touching Lives, the telecom giant’s flagship corporate philanthropy initiative which has addressed the problem of inaccessiblility of potable water in the community.

Speaking on the project’s inauguration,The Director, Corporate Communications and CSR of Airtel Nigeria, Femi Adeniran while speaking on the project restated Airtel’s commitment to addressing fundamental challenges faced by it’s host communities.

“We are aware of the struggles associated with the lack of potable water, and Airtel continues to undertake interventions such as this one in various communities around Nigeria through our Airtel Touching Lives initiative. We could relate to the challenges faced by the Ikot Essien community, prompting our decision to provide support,” he said.

The donation of the water facility aligns with The Communication Company’s dedication to the achievement of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 6, which focuses on ensuring clean water and sanitation for all.
